Newest Chart = New Style

I am totally digging this next batch of charts this one is finally completed and I am so excited to share. Since being challenged with custom orders I have had to branch off and paint some new animals which ended up being tons of fun... and I think much better than my original charts. I think these will better grow with the child since they don't look quite so baby-ish. However, since they are more detailed I have raised the prices on these just a little. Hopefully no one will mind since they are all hand painted and assembled.

I finally figured out something new on etsy (I am so slow). They give you the largest width your picture can be and I always figured that it was the largest length as well... apparently not you just have to stay under 250kb file size it can be as long as you want other then that. I now have new pictures of all the growth folios up that are nice and large so you can see the whole chart up close. Did everyone else know this but me?!?

I am off to try and accomplish more crafting. Wish me luck!

Cloudy

Last night while grilling out we met some new neighbors, Uber spotted and I of course had to catch... who can resist a face like that?
Gertrude apparently lives in the jasmine/under the grill. I was thrilled to find her because I have been hoping for a frog for a very long time. Apparently it took getting rid of the lizards to have one move in... if I had only known sooner!

Then Uber realized there was not one but two! So I made him hold Gerty and I caught Bert... he was a bit more mischievous and feisty!

I can't wait to see if they really stick around I tucked them back into the jasmine so hopefully they weren't too upset about the photo shoot. I wish more animals were like frogs... except the peeing part....

We were going to go kayaking but rain was in the forecast so we slept in and made breakfast. YUM! We felt kind of bummed because the weather was gorgeous and sunny outside.

So we headed out to the beach for a long walk. It was low tide and the beach was huge and there were a bunch of shells, but more interesting then that was the sky.

The clouds were out of control.

Especially this one that was followed by many, many more just like it. We completed our walk just in time for the sky to open up.

This evening we helped a friend move. This was forming the whole time but we thought we were going to beat it.

Not quite though the rain started on our second trip.... and the flooding...

This is us going through a very large puddle... which was fun... of course is wasn't our stuff in the back of the truck... it all made it through ok, just a little damp.

All together a relaxing day ended with yummy Mexican food, and the discovery of a Greek restaurant which we will be checking out very soon.

I will hopefully have a new crafting item to show you tomorrow. I finished another growth chart I just need the weather to cooperate so I can get some photos. I really wish I had more completed projects like Mum has managed but this week has been very long and not all together successful in many ways, I seem to get only an hour in the evenings to work and that is just not enough to see any real progress. Well I'm off to bed since I am currently falling asleep while typing!

Not what I am supposed to be doing, ammended

Jennifer let me borrow Miss Ava for a moment. Couldn't ask for a more gorgeous model. It's so much better on a munchkin than hanging on a line, that's for sure!

Tuesday Jennifer, Tina and I were in the shop admiring Jennifer's back pack and our newest line "Close to my heart" by Faye Burgos for Marcus Fabrics. We were drooling over both and wondering if she should make back pack with this line. I was thinking of the Oliver + S patterns because I often do, I like them so much..... Anyway, Jennifer and I decided to get the same two fabrics, I would make the birthday dress and she would make the 2 + 2 blouse. You may have noticed I am on this getting my projects done kick. So of course instead of continuing on with that noble scheme, I go ahead with this new plan. Try as I might, (and cause Jennifer dared me) I couldn't get this done yesterday. Buttonholes at 1am are not a good idea and last night I listened....
Yet again, I love these patterns. Love the way it turned out.

Look what I did this morning

Other than my ability to put this on a hanger straight, I think it turned out well. This project has been waiting to be started since Ms. Horner's book came out. I am slow, but once I get started, watch out. It took 2 1/2 hours including the time I took to trace the pattern and cut the bias strips. I made it to display at the shop, hoping to inspire.
When I first saw the pattern in the book, I knew this was the fabric I would use. It's from her garden party line. The bias accents are kona cotton and the way they contrast with the fabric make them worth the time. I really like the way it turned out. Hmmmm, can I get a project done tomorrow?
