Yummy-ness

I usually yawn at food blogs... not because I dont like food or anything -not even because I dont like cooking... I just am really bad about getting up the energy to try new things especially if I dont know I am going to like them before I go through the work. Anyway this is not a new recipe for me but I thought you may like it. This is a combination of a Pasta Cafe recipe and a Martha Stewart recipe with a little of I can never remember how to do it the same way twice so also my recipe...

Shrimp Spaghetti
(Serves 2 ~ can serve more just add a little more of everything and don't be a pig)

2 T Olive Oil
2-5 cloves of garlic (I like garlic)
8-10 large shrimp (or as many as you want)
1 can diced tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1-2 fresh tomatoes
5-10 Basil leafs
1/2 box linguine pasta

Heat water for pasta (I always forget to do this first...)
Heat oil and add garlic and shrimp in skillet. Do not completely cook the shrimp just cook until almost done and pull shrimp out of the pan and set aside in bowl. Add in can of diced tomatoes, salt and pepper. Let it simmer while the pasta cooks (this will not be a runny sauce) when the pasta is almost done add the shrimp back in to the sauce and let cook the rest of the way through. When pasta is done and shrimp are cooked toss the fresh tomatoes and basil into the skillet and stir them in and then serve it on top of the linguine. Additional basil can be added to the top (to make it pretty).

So anyway it's really yummy and very fast... faster if you buy peeled and deveined shrimp... but these looked better to me. The fresh tomatoes are what really makes this recipe for so don't leave those out. Alright I am off have a good weekend!

Photo session gone awry!

Normally I would crop this first picture closer. You don't want to see my messy terrace. Notice please the white blob in the background. Apparently I have neglected Evie Evil, because this morning it was just too much for her. As you can see, she scared all three of us terribly. Henry is telling Poke if you don't move she'll leave you alone!!! Poke of course doesn't believe him.

Last night's foray into creativity (madness?)

Just one of the reasons I like all ya'll so much is because you're so supportive. I didn't write my last post for getting sympathy (don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the sympathy greatly), or to be told that I am like all of the creative, smart, clever, and above all, nice people I work with (it is great to know you feel the same way about me though) I was being superior and showing how I handle a bad day..... Ha Ha, no, really, I just feel so much better when I play instead of my normal wallowing...... and anyway, it's really fun to hear you all ewww and ahhhh. I never tire of it.

Mom, I never meant to leave you out of the equation in my learning to sew!
Of course you influenced me. I remember all the outfits you made for Sher and me when we were young! I am very glad you allowed yourself the luxury of a new machine to indulge your sewing abilities. Ok, SEW SOMETHING! Ha ha ha

Now on to last nights foray into the creative abyss. This is from here. Jennifer showed them to me and let me borrow the patterns (have I said how generous she is?) It took me months to get the supplies together and then another few to allow myself to make something so, well, for me. (I think I may mean useless) I mean, I can't wear it, can't display it in the shop, it just sits there. Even you know who, who is normally very supportive, said, "what's it for?" In spite of all that, I love him! A lot! (the snail, he needs a name) He's completely hand sewn, so I could put it down to practicing that skill. Can you believe there is a yard of fabric in his shell? He will sit on my shelf and make me smile, so I guess in that way he is quite useful......

P.S. I will try to get a better picture when I have some light.....

I think I want a Gocco...

It would make my life so much easier! I have spent the last hour looking for non-christmas Christmas cards for a friend at church. I wanted to suggest something handmade... but am not really finding anything reasonable out there... because she needs 100... ouch! Anyway I wish I had a Gocco... or better yet a letter press (HA!) because I would totally do them for her!

I also wish I had one just because they look like fun and I can think of alot of fun things to do with them. Like business cards... I have been toying with logo ideas (this actually evolved out of something else) and I kind of like this one

I am unsure of how to get it from the paper to the computer... I'll let you know what I figure out... but I am also happy to hear any suggestions... on the christmas cards or the business cards... maybe I will carve a stamp... hmmm....does anyone know how to do this???

P.S. This is how I get myself into trouble....
