Toadstool Terrarium

The lack of sunlight makes having plants in our house impossible. So I decided to make myself a little terrarium.... out of felt! I am really thinking the world could be made out of felt!
This is TOTALLY someone else's idea check out Lisa Jordan's blog lil fish studios mine looks like a 5 year old made it compared to the beautiful work she does - I wish I could afford it! If you haven't seen her before you must check out all of her amazing creations!
I just made a simplified copy of hers though I realized later mine is about 4 times the size of hers... which is actually harder (I think) Anyway I have plans for another one that will be my own design...as much as it can be.... lol by no means will it really be mine.
Anyway I LOVE it and it is now on a shelf in my dinning room.... should have taken a picture of that! It's a nice pop of color!
And here is the boy who is growing up so fast! He was actually laughing at me tonight. Got to love it!

Also I am going to be having a giveaway (hopefully friday) so check back for all of the details!!

Memory lane

Spending a very quite Sunday. My DB is hard at work on his class. It causes him pain and I hate that. So, I quietly sit looking at who knows what on the computer. I started going through our pictures of our "Big Trip". This is the one we took when we thought we were leaving Germany. A road trip in our Mini for I forget how many miles. You would be amazed at what I can fit in a Mini. The convertible top was helpful! This is a favorite picture from a market. I don't think I have ever seen a mushroom this big before or since. Hmmm, I could kidnap him and take off on another trip! No one would miss us...........

Mushrooms on my mind

This is just crazy. I don't even have a great affinity for mushrooms. Well, I like to eat them and I have taken photos of them. Maybe I do love mushrooms cause now that I have started, I can't stop making them. The first one is so sad compared to these. (You can trade it in Jennifer.) As you can see I have even made a pointy one, kinda reminds me of a certain hat..... They are actually keeping me sane because the Cathedral Garden quilt is driving me mad! I cannot even tell you how many hours I have spent trying to finish the green section.

I also made a blanket out of our new minky! I love it but I am afraid I won't be able to keep it. Black fabric and Miss Evie just don't mix. For a moment I thought about giving her away instead but that seems so drastic.
For now it will be on display in the shop. That's all for this weekend!

Something I did instead of doing other things

Jennifer gave me this pattern Tuesday and said, "I want this". Being the good friend I am, I put it off for a day. Then when there were hundreds of other things I should have been doing, I made it. Nothing like procrastination through creativity. I mean, I wasn't just sitting, I made a mushroom!! I used yarn I had and mine seems much larger than the example... oh well, it was fun. Hope she likes it. Wonder how many more she may want....
