Isabella's quilt

So rewind to when Bella was turning one. This was her gift from me. An absolutely delicious  star quilt from Denyse Schmidt's Chicopee line. I pinned this one and couldn't get it out of my head (  apparently it isn't her original idea either) But who ever came up with it was genius! I LOVE it.

It is a generous double size quilt
And hand quilted in a purl cotton.
Bella still hasn't used it (or the peacock quilt for that matter) but they are both in her room. I am sure she will use the peacock one when we get her in her own room (right now the kids share a room). The kids literally have loads of handmade blankets so I don't feel too bad saving some of them for when they don't have to be washed at least once a week... They love all of their blankets. Infact they know whose are whose and do not want to share them....
Someday soon this will be gorgeous on her bed.

And a little bit of one year old Bella... in some adorable oliver and s shorts made by mom... which we probably never blogged. I actually spent yesterday going through all of Bellas handmade baby stuff for a cousin that will be arriving in December... and unfortunately I don't think we blogged most any of them.
Time sure is flying by!

Bella's Birthday! ... Finally...

So 5 months later I am going to share Bella's party with you...
I wanted a Fruhlings Fest theme... but people here wouldn't really get that so I just had that in the back of my mind with the decorations.

The invites. Oh dear I just LOVE them!
A lovely girl who we met through worship took most of the photos. She is actually in the process of moving to New York so unfortunately I won't be able to continue to take advantage of her expertise. But you can check her out on Facebook here.
The party decorations turned out bright and festive. Just what I was hoping for. And the weather cooperated unlike on Micah's first birthday

Fest cookies, a necessity for any party.

I DIY'd the glitter letters.
and made a lot of Shot Cotton pennants
The pinata Beehive.... which may have been a little bit too well made....the bees are made of sculpey and painted. We removed them before destroying it. Instead of filling it with candy it was filled with confetti. Each kid received a cotton drawstring bag... which had bubbles, a squirt gun, a ball, and playdough. I tried come up with things that could be used up and purged easily when the parents were over it.

We went easy on the menu and just had Pulled Pork, fruit, baked beans, and cut vegetables.

Someone took the singing and cake much better then Micah. She never has minded attention!
I can't believe Bella is already one let alone almost one and a half now!

Micah's 2nd Birthday

Why is time flying by so fast? Micah turned 2 at the beginning of this month.
We went back and forth on big party or just family and finally decided  just family sounded the best. I left the theme to the last moment. I really wanted it to be something that Micah would love- and it finally hit me that it had to be all about the sky- he loves everything that fly's!

This guy will be in the shop soon. It made such a fun addition to the decorations.

Other then that I kept it simple since Halloween decorations were waiting to go up after the party

Delicious fudge cake courtesy of his Great Grandparents.

I grew up with small family birthdays so I thoroughly enjoyed the evening of hanging out with just family. And yes that is Beau- he just happened to be available : )

Micah hated being sung to...again...  But enjoyed eating his cake!

Isabella rocking one of Micah's gifts.

P.S. new photos are up on both of the kids album pages.... including more photos of the party
Also Isabella is almost 5 months old - WHAT?!
