1,2,3 strikes we're out....

Baby showers are so fun (so much better then wedding showers... gift giving wise of course). All of the little baby items are just too cute. Our most recent shower was baseball themed so I went back and forth on making  verse buying and if making what to make... so it finally occurred to me that a mobile would be really fun.

I have a lot of anxiety giving people made items. Because I don't mind if they don't want it I just want them to give it back if they don't want it... please don't humor me if you don't like something I will get you something that you do like. SO anyway that has nothing to do with this that is just a public service announcement...

I looked around and took several ideas and then added my own touches

It turned out very well. And just so you know mobiles are frustrating to photograph... it might have something to do with the fact that they are mobile... possibly
The couple this is for are very big into baseball. Or at least he is and she humors him... not 100% on that one but she doesn't dislike it. They even had a baseball themed wedding. This maybe too much information I don't know I haven't blogged in so long that I am not sure what is worth saying.
The scoreboard is from a game that had meaning to him... I think the 2nd game of the 88 world series... I can't remember for sure I am trying to block out all memories having to stitching that board twice...
Really other then the scoreboard this was blast to make and came together fairly quickly.
I might even be willing to make one again but I will never make another scoreboard...
And of course not a complicated logo either...
It was hard not to keep it. I have no personal use for it but I just loved the way it came together.

Forgotten picture

This is for Jessica. I forgot about him until this morning when I was trying to take pictures and my battery went dead. He was on my dear husband's camera. We were on our last trip to the Xmas market when we spotted him. He sings. This is try number two for Jennifer. I made the last one too big. Keep your fingers crossed.
I was trying to count how many hats I have made this year and it scared me, so I stopped.

Christmas in Boeblingen

Christmas was perfect. We missed the people that couldn't be here but had fun with those that could. We ate, slept late, watched movies, played Wii (our son brought his to loan to us) and ate some more. We got the boys a couple of silly things. You should have been here when the helicoptor got stuck on Brinkley's backside!!! My mom and sis sent gifts. I sent nothing and they sent me lovely things anyway. Handmade no less. Mom always sends you know who, Brinkely and Evie a gift too! You can see from the pictures that Brinkley thought all of the gifts should have been his! I hope all of you had as wonderful a time as we did. One day we will all have Christmas together again!

I did manage to finish this hat for a special order. I had to make it twice! The first one was too big. Sizing is hard, I'm just saying.

Goofin around

I did make another hat. I really like this style. I made it a bit shorter in the crown so it works better with a jacket. I also made a neck something. Warmer, neckerchief, not a tie, not quite a scarf...... I don't know but I put some of my favortie buttons from here. If I could be a button these are the buttons I would be. Sherie knows what I'm talkin bout.....
And no, you know who was not taking these pics. I did not want to disturb his studying and so was tormenting myself. Can't you tell.... blurry much?

100th post and a give away!

This is actually my hundreth post. Who knew it could last this long, though I am sure some of you have given up this last month...... It's been busy, I've been tired but I have missed posting. I am surprised by how much I have enjoyed it. Maybe it's silly to want to give something away cause it is not like I am actually anybody but I thought why not, it could be fun. I would love to have done something that is all me but I am going to use someone else's genius for this. So anyway.... This is Belle. She is not the give away. She is going to be on her way to someone special.
This is me. I am not the give away either. I am just showing off my hat. I made it to put in the shop and decided I liked it too much....

This is Stuart. He is the give away. As some of you know I became obsessed with making these little guys from here. I think I need help. In the mean time, if you would like him, leave a comment. I will leave it open until Monday night, then make you know who draw a number for me. After that Stuart will be on his way to a new home. Or, if no one comments, he and Antonio will figure out some thing else to do.....

While I was out.....

The last couple of weeks have been full, hectic and fun, so I am not doing anything spectacular, other than showing you what I've been crocheting while my mind is too tired to do anything else. I made a cool green hat that I haven't photographed yet. I may end up keeping it. The first hat pictured is for Kelly, unless she doesn't like it... This second is for the cutest little girl, unless she doesn't like it..... Then there is the goofy scarf, just because, searching for a home. Oh and the last picture is for those of you who haven't seen me in my glasses. The glasses I have to wear all the time now. Be kind.

My husband wants his pants hemmed but I made a hat instead

There were other titles to this post, like:
If I'm late for work, will you for give me, because I made this hat....
or
If I forget to bathe but made this hat, will ya'll still love me??
or
Dog toilet trains himself because owner would rather crochet another hat instead of taking him outside, which is really not fair.....
k, that one was a bit long. The flower is not done yet but I have to walk the dog, bathe and get to work. Don't worry babe, I'll hem the pants tonight........

It was for Ava.....

You shouldn't crochet when you are tense.
My dear Ava, you will get one the right size, I promise. At least you can tell me if you like the color.....

I warned you!

I did! I admitted right up front that I was going to be terrible at this...... It's not that I haven't been creative, I have. I just haven't written about it. My mom arrived two weeks ago and we are still catching up on the everyday type stuff. This is harder to do since I am working. Good news is, she likes to come to work with me. She loves the people I work with and whenever I give her the chance she tries a new project. Pottery painting has been big this time. We took Kelly's class on Majolica style painting, lots of fun! We also did the ladies night out. What a hoot that was. She is still wondering what to do with a small ceramic bustier and shoe..... Today she tried out lamp working with Katelyn. She made two beads. I was impressed! They were good. My first was a bit lumpy..... Katelyn is a great teacher, very patient with good information. I finished a hat for Emily (one of my favorite small friends) you can she it here on her mom's blog. I have made more tiny flowers, Kelly and I sold some, you can see them on this site. I have made some dresses too. I used some of my favorite fabrics at the shop. I will try to post pictures one day...... really.... I mean it.
