Five Year Blog-A-Thon!

It is hard for me to believe but we have been blogging for five whole years! Way back when I worked at the most wonderful shop with the most amazing people, I was talked into starting a blog. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I in turn talked Jessica into blogging and when You Know Who and I moved back to the states, Jessica and I combined blogs.

Something people may not know, I would never have started working at the craft shop if Jessica hadn't talked me into taking a class. Oh the things I would have missed!

So to celebrate this monumental event several of those awesome people and us are doing a blog-a-thon give away! Please visit each of the blogs and leave a comment for the chance at some really awesome things.

Jessica and I are offering a $30 certificate to be used in our shop. All you have to do is go over to the shop, look around, come back to this post and tell us what you might choose if you win.

Here are the links to everyone else's giveaways! Just click on the pictures!

Comments will  close at 10pm on the 16th of March and winners will be announced on the 17th of March.
Thanks for playing along!

Invites for a 25th Wedding Anniversary

A friend is throwing her daughter a 25th Wedding Anniversary Party and asked for me to make up the same invites I did for her other daughter a little over 3 years ago (which was the very first thing I posted about on my blog. I also made the invites for their 50th Anniversary that her daughters hosted.)

She ordered candy bar wrappers again.  Which are very fun- just glad I don't have to wrap all of the candy bars!
It's always nice to see couples hit these anniversarys!

A Nice, Quiet Weekend

Not only was this last Sunday Father's Day, it was You Know Who's and my thirtieth anniversary. That's right, thirty, three zero, three decades. I'm not sure where all that time has gone. I look at our kids and grandson and know I am getting older but apart from the days where my body doesn't cooperate, I don't feel older. I look at this man whom I love more than when we first decided to spend the rest of our lives together and he just hasn't changed that much. (He loves being told that.)
Anyway, I am blessed.
We are blessed, to have the life we do.
 Together.
It's appropriate then that we spent our weekend with people we love, doing things we enjoy.
It was a gorgeous day out on the water Saturday. He and I went out into the ocean for the first time. Not very far, but far enough for me....
One section of the beach was covered in birds. Their noise was so loud, you could hear it over the crashing surf.
Pelicans in flight are kind of amazing.
Heading into open water.
I made him turn back for the inner coastal before we went too far for my comfort.
Beach baby.
Look at that tongue!
A picnic would not be complete without iced coffee.
This stuff has changed my life.
Seriously.
I broke up with a well known coffee house now that I make my own.
I can have it anytime I want.
I've gained weight.
I am happy.

28 years and counting

While at Jessica and our son in law's, You know who and I reached the milestone of 28 blissful years of marriage. We got a little crazy, we went kayaking. Jess and Uber were game. We all had a blast. First was learning to coordinate our rowing. We had to unlearn some bad habits we'd picked up oh, about, 28 years ago while using a canoe. That accomplished we went, I think, about 6 miles to the ocean and back again.
~
Look, we are totally in sync..... my paddle is backwards. Maybe that's why it was hard....
This guy understands the word relaxation.
To the ocean and beyond.......

Beautiful scenery and strange birds.

Jess and I were just talking about how strange it is to enjoy doing something for fun that is such hard work. I think that's the way most of our lives should go. Work hard at what ever you do, fun, family, friends, you appreciate it more, it makes it special.

Hey Babe, here's to 28 great years and hopefully at least that many more.

How could I forget?? A give away is in order!

One year and one month ago~yesterday~was my blogaversary! I can't believe that when I had my arm twisted to start, I would end up enjoying it so much! In this one short year I have gained a cyber support group that I am now not sure I can live without.
~
So in honor of this I feel the need to give something away. I'm not sure what it will be. Is a new snail ready to be born? Or something I haven't thought of yet since it is early and I am still not sure I am awake? Will I even remember this later on?
~
If you want a chance to be chosen, make a comment on this post. I will leave it open until next Friday.

~

I have decided this will be one of the prizes. I have been helping Jessica to write a tutorial for this cute bag. I just finished it and I think it's pretty cool. She gave me permission to give it away as a preview. I made the smaller bag to match just reversing the fabrics. Stay tuned to see what else might pop up.

27 Years

That's right, it was twenty seven years ago today, (well, in another time zone) that my dearly beloved and I were married. To think there are those of you out there having anxiety over your 27th birthday! Your just getting started! You have years ahead of you if you're as lucky as I am.... and I am very lucky. I am married to a wonderful guy who (for the most part, ha ha) puts up with my chaos. He makes me laugh more than any other person on earth. We have fun adventures together. We have comfortable quiet times too.... I am so glad to know him and be his other half. His crazy half..... Happy anniversary Babe!
