For Matt

More water color - this time it was for Matt... he doesn't get many things done specifically for him. But everyone loves a little Dave Matthews Band- and we just went to see him this last summer in Jacksonville. So I made this for him when we found out about the new job. Now it is hanging in the living room.

I don't post much about family life any more... but Matt is a pretty awesome guy.

Crafting for Uber - Bike Bag

Uber bikes almost every weekend. When we had a garage he had a spot to stash all of the paraphernalia that comes with riding. Now that were in a condo it all seemed to be spread from my parents house through both of our vehicles and in random places around our house. This was super frustrating-not only for me but also for Uber because he constantly didn't have things he thought he did.
So I made him a present- a Gear Bag.
of course it had to be pretty- but also masculine. I'd been hoarding this wood grain fabric forever

The bag is fully lined, drawstring closure, squared bottom
I cut the bike out and steam-a-seamed it on. Then stitched around it rather crudely. The spokes still have bits of paper in them since I used paper to guide where I should sew the spokes.
He really likes it which is a relief. It gets constant use. I think its around 15" x 20" big enough to fit biking shoes, helmet, glasses, camel pack and other various riding gear. And bonus for me I love looking at it and it hangs on the inside of our laundry room door.

T shirt fun

So behind on so many things! Sorry about that life is busy! I will try to get back and get up to date here soon but I really can't promise anything. I'm trying to spend more time with kids...  I don't really feel like I am accomplishing this since I have so many other things going on.... but you're not here to listen to that -you're here for crafting!

I've been playing with the Silhouette a LOT. It is addictive.
Among many other things I made matching shirts for the boys-- Uber was nice enough to let me dress them alike for a few hours and get a picture. I LOVE THEM! (the boys and the shirts... but mainly the boys)

I also made them matching Thunder Cats shirts

The one on the left was an extra shirt... for no one special at the moment.

This graphic is copied from an American Eagle shirt we bought Uber a few+ years ago. It wore out and I held on to it to duplicate... and since I didn't have to hand cut the design I realized Micah needed one too.

Micah's Sea Turtle Quilt Applique now a shirt graphic

And an enlarge Elephant shirt.

And here is Bella in one I made a while back (as in before I ever knew there would be a girl to wear it) - It's so fun seeing them in things with my graphics on it!

Alright I am off to bed. Hope you all are well I will try to catch up on my blog reading soon!

Uber's crafty

This wall has been bothering me forever.  It's very frustrating to have all of your furniture purchased and still feel like your space looks unfinished. We have 9 ft ceilings in our downstairs and something was needed above the TV.
I had saved a few images for inspiration-  (sorry I don't know where the top one is from)
And asked Uber super nicely if he would build me something, lucky we had a bunch of scrap molding in the garage from old projects so this was a great way to clear some of it out. I think this project ended up costing about $9.
Here it is close up. I did distress it ... but apparently not enough to really show. What made it even better was the next Pottery Barn catalog I received in the mail had this $400 version which seems a little ridiculous to me but I was super happy to show it to Uber so he could see what an awesome job he did.
And here is the wall as it looks now. We raised the TV up about 5 inches since we both had never been happy with the height and I switched out the picture for this mirror.
I'm not done accessorizing yet but I'm slowly working on it. The giraffe by the way is Ubers gift to Micah from a recent trip to Central America.
I have a bunch more house projects to show you so stay tuned!

Motorcycle pillow

I've wanted to make this graphic/pillow for over a year. I thought uber would appreciate something in the house that was made with him in mind.
He chose red to match his truck (and possibly his old motorcycle)
I'm kind of in love with the graphic though... as you will see later!
Anyway I made a second one for the shop

Thanksgiving Holiday

We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. Ubers parents came out from California to see Micah for the first time! We had Mum take a bunch of pictures while they were here. The lighting sucks... which is my houses fault not mums.

The day after Thanksgiving we all went out to the beach... so weird...

blue jelly fish
have no idea what kind this is... but he's cute
This is how Micah and Uber roll... his neck is fine he really likes it like this... he will scream at you if you try and move it! (No we don't let him do this all of the time though)
We ordered baby sunglasses ...lol... he was in a bad mood that night but the picture made me laugh. He doesn't mind wearing them.
And this one just to make you want to pinch his cheeks! He's all pimped out for church, this is an outfit mum got him and I LOVE it!
crafting tomorrow if I can get the pictures uploaded!

Photo Shoot Part 2

You guys are all so sweet thanks for all the nice comments! Here's part two of the photos and then I will stop torturing you guys with pictures of me!

These were all taken in the little down town area of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island - which is about a 40 minutes north of us.
I LOVE this wall.
I think this one is my favorite!

Uber is so hot...and awesome because he humors me way longer than he should!
Holding yourself up when your front heavy is interesting... I love the pictures but if Uber and Mum hadn't been nice and helped me down I would have fallen over!

Mum did a FANTASTIC job I am so happy with all of the pictures and these were just a few of my favorites!

Back to crafting tomorrow... and it's a good one!
