Recipe Exchange 2012

We're gearing up for another recipe/ornament exchange so I thought I would share last years invites with you -since I never got them up last year and this years will not be custom made....boo

I forgot how much I loved these! Maybe I will be on the ball again next year. One can only hope.
I also put together a cook book for all those who attend. Which is lots of fun to look back on.
Will you be hosting a fun gathering this season?

Baseball Baby Shower

Realized I never shared the Baseball invite I created for the shower or the shower

Mom was on top of it and finally took pictures at this shower. We host a lot of showers... we never have pictures of them... we are terrible about it. And we have a few really awesome ladies that do a lot of really great decorating.
 How adorable are these cupcakes?
This lovely young lady made them. She's awesome and adorable. We all dressed up in baseball fan attire for the shower- it was the most comfortable I have ever been at a shower. She actually is a wedding planner/coordinator (I am not sure I have her title right... ). Doesn't that sound like fun?!

I wish I could show you more pictures but for privacy I am going to keep it to the ones without people ...
Hope you enjoyed!
PS I received the pictures from the photographer for Bella's 1st birthday... I will try to share that soon! SOOOO love the way her birthday came out!

Invitations

I have had the pleasure of working on two different invitations recently. This first one was SO fun to get a chance to do. I was contacted by a German company that saw Micah's invites and asked to create their invitations for a conference that will be held this year in Munich.
These first two pictures are of the card part of the invite. The company graphics are their images I just arranged them into the card.

of course all the important information is removed.
The fun part of the invite though is the insert--

Man do I wish I were invited to this conference!!

But for a party I was invited to (because I helped throw it... haha)
Don't worry I changed all the important info on this invite! We kept the invite simple and preppy- I really like the way it turned out. This is actually a post Isabella project so it was done in my very limited free time!

I thought the shower went extremely well. The food was DELICIOUS... even if I do say so myself. I will have to get a hold of a few of the recipes and share them with you. Just in case you need party finger food that is amazing.
Showers are so much fun. It also helps when you are throwing them with awesome people!

Ornament Exchange Invitations

Corinnea-- Jessica, a friend and I had a party. We can't prove it because we did not take one single photo.
Not. A. Single. One.
We were busy having fun.
Our only evidence are these invitations.
Jessica-- To be fair we were busy having fun and trying to make sure our 30+ guests were also enjoying themselves... yes 30+ I think our final count was 35... in Mum's house! Awesome turn out, considering we invited over 60... yes we are crazy! So on to the invites...
J - Remember that over 60 number? Well we had to make a lot of invites and we wanted them to be fun but most of all affordable. Since we had just shown you the cinnamon ornament recipe we thought it would be neat to include an ornament in the invite so we made a lot of little trees. We kept the rest of the invite pretty plain- just printed it on a heavy card stock and tied a tree at the top.
C - The lovely little tree graphic is a Jessica original.
J - It's printed on a 2x3" mailing label that I cut the curved corners off of and then each invite was stuffed into a treat bags that we found in the $1 bin at Target.
C - The house was full of food and friends. Silly games were played. Ornaments chosen, stolen and chose again. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
J - Since we did the party potluck style we also included recipe cards in the invite, this time from the $1 bin at Michaels. So after the party my slave driver mother sent me home to work on a small gift to give out to everyone who attended.
J -We just scanned in all of the recipe cards and then resized them and printed them up into a small book.
J - I think Mums first huge event at her house was a success... tomorrow we will be back with a tour of our holiday decorations.

Invites for a 25th Wedding Anniversary

A friend is throwing her daughter a 25th Wedding Anniversary Party and asked for me to make up the same invites I did for her other daughter a little over 3 years ago (which was the very first thing I posted about on my blog. I also made the invites for their 50th Anniversary that her daughters hosted.)

She ordered candy bar wrappers again.  Which are very fun- just glad I don't have to wrap all of the candy bars!
It's always nice to see couples hit these anniversarys!

Micah's 1st Birthday

We had planned for the birthday party to be outdoors but unfortunately the weather threatened to be nasty so we ended up moving it inside just to be safe. So there was a lot of last minute re planning of the decorations. Uber and a friend ended up being in charge of the garland and I have to say  I love that they decided to deck out the front of the house!

 lebkuchen were worn
as well as lederhosen (outfit courtesy of Mum's amazing sewing skills) but don't worry only by the wee one.
We tried to get a mini photo shoot in but there were a lot of distractions... wind... dogs...

 This child kills me.

Mustaches which had nothing to do with the fest they just seemed like they would be fun
 and they were!

 Micah enjoyed his gifts

Though not so much when I put him in his gift...
**Disclaimer** there were awesome balls in this box... he should have enjoyed this!
Kubbs was played - have you all heard of this game? It's Swedish and it is a blast- dad made our set.
Micah wasn't sure what to do while everyone sang to him
He was also rather miffed about the large cake in front of him, like we were playing some sort of trick on him.
He was more than happy to feed it to other people
But we found out he is more of a chocolate boy.
