At this time I must admit to having half of my faculties in order. I surround myself with clever people to try and cover up this fact. In my last post I gave credit to Jennifer for the idea of getting the Turning Twenty quilt pattern when it was in fact my daughter, Jessica. Last night, when she kindly pointed this out to me in an email, I felt terrible. I am trying to figure out how to blame this on the two of them. I know, they are both clever, talented people who give me so many good ideas that I get confused!! Does that work? Anyway, I blogged about my Mema and told ya'll that I have been surrounded by talent all my life. What I haven't said yet is that I managed to produce three talented people. Much more clever than me most days. I hope Jessica doesn't mind but I am putting up pictures of something she has done. They are growth folios. They can be hung on the wall or stored in their compact 6 x 6 size on a shelf. She painted each one with cool bugs and plants leaving enough room for notes. There is a pocket for a picture on the front. She has also personalized them. So said all of that to say, THANK YOU Jessica. Oh and BTW you need to pick out fabric cause I feel another quilt top needs to be made....

No time to blog
It was a long week...... I started off with so much energy and today feel as if the life was sucked out of me. Monday we got a pattern in that Jennifer told me about. It is called Turning Twenty by Tricia Cribbs. I was so excited about the pattern, I bought fat quarters from our Fresh Cut line and went home to sew. Around 8 that night I finally had time to start cutting. I cut and sewed for three hours that night, then got up, sewed for two more the next morning and was done with the top. I really like the way it went together! Even though I only had eight different fat quarters instead of twenty, it looks great. Kelly told me to hang it in the shop, I complained that it was not complete but did it anyway and before I could get it hung, two people asked for the book! Kelly loves being right... I have yet to get a good picture of it but I will post the one I have. This is an addictive quilt style, I have started picturing all of our lines done in it. Anyone out there need a quilt? I may have several to choose from.....

Something else I do
Well, I didn't feel particularly creative this week. I did get the fabric straightened at work, did some rearranging on one wall, (prompted by Jenny P ) and made the crew chili on Friday. I do love cooking for them, they always say they like it and I choose to believe them! I was thinking about a nice relaxing weekend but the Dearly Beloved had another thing on his mind..... SKIING! So off we went. This entails getting up at 5am, yep 0500, and driving for three hours to one of the most beautiful places on the earth. It was a bit overcast (snowing) when we got there but cleared up (became visible at certain elevations) and we had a great time. I am not a natural skier. I go because the rest of the family LOVES it and I want to be with them. I have improved greatly this year, which means they don't have to wait for me as long and can't catch me huffing and puffing with that camera as much as they used to! I have added a picture just in case you think I am making this up.... I do look like a small abomidable snow person.

A Kitty is Born
If you have read Jenny P.'s blog, you know she has links to a lot of fun sites. While looking at Wee Wonderfuls I came across Pointy Kitty. After working on the Cathedral Window quilt, I needed something silly to occupy my time. I got him mostly-done Sunday night and realized I had run out of stuffing. As I was working yesterday, it was no problem to spend yet more money at the shop. So last night I completed my little Tom cat. He is surrounded by a bed of the little flowers I am obsessed with crocheting. I am bringing him to work with me for safety reasons. Brinkley, my lovely golden, thinks I made it for him even though he has his own live cat. Evie, the afore mentioned clever yet wicked cat, seems jealous so there is no telling what she has planned. Hope you like him. Maybe you will spot him somewhere in the store......

Drowning in projects
So many projects, so little time. As if I didn't have enough to do, I am one of the suckers who signed on to do the the cathedral window quilt. I got my fabric, washed it, and got my sewing kit together. What I didn't do was read all the instructions. What I know now is there are a million blocks in this quilt. I may have to hurt Kelly....... Today I completed 3 large blocks, 2 small blocks and I am not sure I want to look at them again. So I went on to a smaller fun project, got mostly done to find out I didn't have enough stuffing to complete it! I did get a small bag done and now I am crocheting tiny flowers again. If all else fails, I can crochet tiny flowers.......
