The last time I had my hair cut was back in June. It was an interesting cut, I had these sort of dog ears in the front and chopped layers in the back. I was not pleased. So I let it grow. Then I stopped paying attention to it. When I realized how long it was, I thought, for about the tenth time, that I should donate it to Locks of Love. Apparently about the same time Jess was thinking of the same thing. Soooo I continued to let mine grow.
Strange thing about me and my hair, the longer it gets, the more I fear letting it go. Even when I realize that I am not looking my best.
Today was the day. Jess and I went together and did it.
I know that my hair was beyond shaggy buuuuuuutttttt, I was not quite ready for this short. I haven't even looked at the back, it is really short. Really. I can't bring myself to look. In spite of never, ever, wanting to do this again, I'm really glad I did it this once.
P.S. If anyone one of you tells me I look perky you'll be dead to me. Really. Not. Kidding.
I won't tell you that you look perky, that is NOT the correct discription, but I will tell you that you look amazing. I love it and you know (as I told Jess) that I LOVE long hair. I've always loved my girls with their beautiful hair long. BUT, oh my word, thought I would never say this...this hair style look beautiful on you. Enjoy the newness and differentness of it knowing 'you look good!!!'
ReplyDeleteP.S. and....you did a good thing for a good cause!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! Oh, Corinnea, I love it! And it's awesome that you donated it; I've never cut enough off at once to donate mine.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, though...where did the "no perky" thing come from? Did the stylist say it?
I think you look beautiful!!! I have always been envious of your hair, and think this cut really shows it off! Proud of you for doing such a great and really difficult thing, makes me want to cut mine off too!
ReplyDeletefrom someone whose mom wears wigs when her hair is gone from chemo....your soul shines!
ReplyDeleteI like it, Corinnea! Lookin' good! And your donation to the cause has to make you feel good!
ReplyDeleteBut it IS really CuTe! It's so tempting, but, ... I'll be NiCe *vbg*
ReplyDeleteGood donation, great cause! I've had several students over the years do this same thing. :-}pokey
yes, "perky" is definitely a word reserved for the boobs of those who haven't had children and flight attendants. I would say this is more "sleek and chic". And above all, gorgeous! You did a good thing.

ReplyDeleteAnd I think what you did is a great thing! GREAT! You just made a HUGE impact on someone else's life!

ReplyDeleteCorinnea!! I miss you over here! I love seeing pictures of you and I love this cut on you!! Good job donating too. really cool.
ReplyDeleteCrafterhours: you made me laugh! I'm not sure mine were ever perky though...
Thanks so much everyone for the reassurance that my very vain little self needed!
ReplyDeleteAdrianne many years ago I had a very short cut and for some reason people thought perky was a compliment.... Why people needed to say anything other than hey, nice hair is beyond me. Guess I felt no one really liked the way it looked and thought perky was a good cover.
Seriously no part of me has ever been nor will be perky. Bubbly maybe but not perky.
I have issues.
Oh Corinnea! You look so perk... uh... bouncy... no... hehe! I think it looks good! I could be biased since we now have the same haircut... but I really do think it looks great! Wear it proudly!
ReplyDeleteoh wow what a wonderful thing to do. I have periodically gone and had my hair cut short - really short from long. Including the time age 17 I sat in a hairdressers window right before Christmas and they hacked my very long hair off randomly to save washing it all - much to the horror of Christmas shoppers passing by in the street!)and I figure it'll grown back. At least your donation (I had to google that) is helping someone who had no choice but to loose their hair.
ReplyDeleteI like it on you. It looks very sophisticated. Notice I didn't say perky.
ReplyDeleteAfter I looked up what "perky" means (just to stay on safe ground ...) - I can honestly say I wouldn't have thought of using a term like that. But I do think your new hair cut looks great, I really like it!
