I started this way back when I found out he was to be. Thank goodness I finished before he grew up.
It's my version of an eye spy quilt. Hand quilted with size 5 pearl cotton.
Simple quilting.
Jess told me not to get all uptight about the quilting. It's wonkier in some places than in others. I tried.
There are fabrics in here from several lines, some of which were donated by Jennifer and Katelyn. Thanks you two.
I was having so much fun making the blocks that I ended up with enough for a twin size quilt. Pay attention much? Do math much? Jess asked me to make it with blocks on the front and back. Double the fun.....
The individual blue blocks on either side were a happy mistake.
Oh my gosh, this is gorgeous! I am sooo impressed, and hand-quilted! He will cherish it forever. I hope you're willing to keep up this level of amazing quality because you're already spoiling him and he'll never expect anything less. What am i talking about... of course you are...
ReplyDeleteWell that is just adorable! Don't you love doing that big quilting stitch with perle, rather than the teeny tiny stitches?!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! I love all the pictures, especially that first one, where he's looking off to the side. So cute! Love the quilt, love the baby. :)
ReplyDeletePS- you're way ahead of me. I still need to finish Elora's quilt.
Love it! It is perfect! He is going to have so much fun playing on it!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so awesome! I love all the little critters in there!
ReplyDeleteAnd he is very adorable.
This is such a lovely treasure. I like the way there is textural look to the sashing fabric which makes you want to to stoke it. Such cute little blocks, he's going to have so much fun spying the little friends you've put in the centre of each block. I also like the way this doesn't scream baby at you so is something that could be treasured long after he's a baby. And I can see why you love him because he's sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt turned out adorable! And you hand quilted. Nice! He looks so cute on it!
ReplyDeleteYour grandson is so lovely! love your quilt too.
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness that baby boy is so precious, darling, cute, kissable.......I could go on you know.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love the quilt, but you already know that.
What a happy, squeezeable baby! He LOVES his quilt, that is clear enough!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Gramma, you caught some of the happiest smiles on this lil' guy, too too precious! I'd be framing these in a mat made with some of the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI like your cute pictures in the i spy windows, it is cleverly done! Much applause!
:-}pokey
You know how much we love lil' boys here (not in a sick, twisted way either...lol) so he is a cutie pie from heaven. He needs to come life at my house and learn to chase squirrels, shovel sidewalks and throw snowballs, eat bugs, play in the mud and cuddle with kittens and doggies!
ReplyDeleteA loverly, grandmotherly quilt if ever I saw one!
Thanks so much everyone! It's always fun to show you the little guy!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! Quilt and little boy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE hand quilting with the pearl cottons. They go ever so much faster! And the idea for the quilt and execution of it is just fabulous! What a lucky little boy he is!
Good work Corinnea! I don't know which is cuter...the quilt or the grandbaby!
