Found this lovely one morning in the garden. It's beautiful wings were broken.
I know this is kinda sad but the good news is, I am attracting more and more of these pretty creatures into the yard. This one was all nestled down in my parsley. A nice hiding place.
This parsley survived the winter and has gone insane.
It is sad, but it looks like it has a wonderful hiding place.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. Black swallowtails lay their eggs on parley, fennel, dill, ammi majus, etc. This is what their larvae (caterpillars) eat. We had lots of them last year in our garden.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful picture, though! Thanks for sharing ~

Wow, what a gorgeous shot! I haven't seen any butterflies yet as it must be too early. Thanks for sharing it with us.

ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog today--I appreciate it! Your photos are lovely. We often get a few swallowtails and monarch butterflies in our garden--I've got butterfly bushes and parsley, and they love all of that, so sometimes they come for a snack!
