Joan Read This Carefully

I am seriously having trouble with blogger tonight.
~
The above photo is unwilling to stay put where it belongs and I can't get my text to write above it..... Good news though for those who like for things to be spelled correctly, my spell check seems to be working wonderfully.....
~
Anyway, the above bag, inspire by this person, is what I hope to be the first of several to corral my small pieces of fabric. Not sure what color I'll try next.
~
I have three people willing to play Pay it Forward with me. Jaclyn, Adrienne and Joan. Joan! It's you! I can't convince Mary A to start a blog, so it's you! Get crackin' !
My fourth apron. I made this one reversible too.
Be nice, I had to take these by myself. Now that we have had our time change here, it's dark WAY TO EARLY. So, You Know Who wasn't home in time to torment help me.
Not sure what I'll do with this one..... I may have to keep it.

Pay it Forward

Have you heard of this? I hadn't until I clicked on Dee's blog the other night. I thought it sounded interesting and fun (and maybe slightly intimidating) I was one of the first three to comment and now I get to play. Here are the rules: I will make a little something for the first three people who comment on this post. I will have 365 days to do it in. If you would like to play you must have a blog and post your Pay it Foward on your blog to keep the fun going.

Who's ready to play?

Needle Book Tutorial Completed!!!

Ok so I know your wondering where the Kitchen aide tutorial is but it's just not ready yet!!!

I did finish up this little tutorial and it's currently up in the shop. I am totally in love with it. I used to have a little jar full of needles and I was always lossing them.... which is one of the few things that makes Uber disgruntled!!! Go figure! Now with my fun little book they all seem to stay together and organized!

Well I am off I have been cooking and baking up a storm tonight... I need to eat something!!

A full weekend!

We headed up to Jekyll Island in Georgia Saturday morning for a beach side wedding. It was an beautiful morning and an absolutely beautiful wedding.

You can't beat a beautiful blue sky, the ocean and an empty beach as your backdrop.
The only decorations were sunflowers lining the aisle.

How great is that?
After the wedding we played tourist around the island. They have a Sea Turtle conservatory so of course we checked that out! They were having a Turtleween event so there were also birds and reptiles there with handlers.
My favorite bird was the barn owl. Isn't he gorgeous? He looks exactly like my favorite owl on the last growth chart I did. I really wanted to take him home!

This hawk was really funny. He kept trying to take flight because he wanted to eat the kite (another bird) that they had with them.
This one was Ubers favorite! He liked his yellow eyes. All of these birds are not releasable. The owls imprinted on humans and now can't survive on their own and the hawk is visually impaired.
Now to the turtles!! Look at this little guy!!
This girl was my favorite turtle because of her coloring she was about 100 pounds -
I know it doesn't look like it! She was supposed to be release already but she got too stressed out when they attached her tracking device and now they have to wait till the water gets warmer.

Another fun thing I dragged Uber to the hospital this morning to check out Everly Grace. She was born last night via an emergency C-Section. Her and her mom are doing fine though. She is a very beautiful baby!!

Winter?

I'm not ready for fall much less winter. People are gearing up for the holidays(busy at the shop), my car is broke, and it's cold. I mean COLD. So the other night, I decided to go ahead, brave the cold, take a walk with you know who and Brink, and try to capture some of the things I like about this time of year.

Monday...

I was five minutes from having this done yesterday and it was all I accomplished tonight!

This is one of the tutorials I have been working on.... it's not quite there yet but I think I am getting closer!
I am at the point where I wish my mum was here so I could shove it all over to her and be like you explain it!!! Of course she is now happy that she isn't here!
She still has to test the pattern though so she might just wish she had written it to begin with!!
I hope all of your Mondays were more productive!!

Sophia bag - Woot!

The other possible title was...... Dear Jennifer, You made four of these??? I thought of that title about half way through. About the time I realized I hadn't put the fleece interfacing in the handles. Now that I am finished, I'm thinking, next time, prep all the pieces first. I mean I know this, I just have to do it.
This was WAY out of my comfort zone. It was fun.

I love weekends...

but then who doesn't?

We have had a lovely weekend. It's been in the 60's which has been AMAZING we have actually been able to put on sweaters!! Of course the sweaters have been over shorts and tank tops but we aren't complaining!!

Saturday morning (ish) we headed out to our local state park with our bikes. The original plan was to hit some of the off road trails but we got a short ways down the trail and a face plant each in (not bad or anything... well not for me at least -I caught myself!! ) and realized my bike for sure wasn't in that kind of shape. Pavement was fine but the tires and tubes need to be replaced before we hit up tree roots and the craziness going on back in the trail. Of course when we pulled a map on the way out of the park we found out we had inadvertently headed down the expert trail... needless to say we will be going back with new tires and be hitting the beginner trail! I have to say the little slice I got was a blast... Also Mum and Dad will be happy that the park requires helmets on the off road trails so Uber is going to have to purchase one now!!!Since the trails were out for the day we ended up touring the whole park from the roads. Which was great we had no idea there was so much additional stuff out there! Then we headed out to the beach that is also part of the park and got in a good 12 mile ride on the beach.

We didn't take the camera on the ride (unfortunately) because we had no where to carry it but here is us cleaning up after the ride. Dad they have a station there to hose off your bikes!

Then last night we had some of the guys over for football and brats. And I slipped in my first apple pie of the season. YUM! No pictures of course because they kind of devoured it!

I thought I would share these two pictures with you. These are the decorations from the baby shower which are now being used in the babies room. How fun is that?

Well I need to get busy crafting. It's been quiet around here but I have been working on some tutorials. One's being tested and the other one is driving me crazy!!!! Hopefully I will be wrapping them up soon and back to fun things I can show you.

Just in case

Just in case you thought I was being lazy this weekend...... I would have finished but,

I forgot to buy her feet. She needs feet.

One for the shop

My second go at the Uptown Coat by Favorite Things. I'm hanging in the shop hoping it inspires more people to sew clothing. Thanks Jennifer for taking the photos for me.....

This time I used cordouroy for the outer coat and a cotton for the lining. Both fabrics are available at the store. I made covered buttons this time.

I think I could use a different one for each day of the week.

Ready for Halloween

I'm all ready for Halloween after some quick projects with stuff I had laying around the house. Aslan got a witches hat. Which is totally cracking me up - it's HUGE! It took Uber a little while to figure out what I was doing... luckily he laughed when he realized!

After seeing Jennifer's bat garland I just had to do some for myself. It turned out really well though I wish the ribbon I found had been longer.
They're made out of felt with embroidered faces. I used a double stretchy stitch for the detailing on the wings so they crinkle and hold themselves up.

I wasn't to particular with my stitching just had fun with it.

This whole garland making thing is addictive I want to make more now!!
