Going away gifts ... Part 3

Mom asked for me to do something with water colors and the phrase 'and they all lived happily ever after' so I made this for her and gave it to her before we left. Actually I had Bella give it to her so she would have an easier time with it. Kids are good for that! 

At some point I will get a good scan of it and print one for myself!

 P.S. Corinnea here.... Making it easier on me by having Bella give it to me actually means, Mom wouldn't dissolve into hysterical crying in front of Bella there by making it easier on her... It worked, for the most part. 

Superhero bags

 I've seen some really fun Superhero projects on pinterest but so far we aren't really into super heros and Matt has no special interest in any of them. So, when I wanted to make something for some of my young cousins and I found out they do like super heroes it seemed like a good time to pull one of those pins out. (specific one here)

 I apologize for the absolutely awful pictures. But I forgot to photograph them at all so last minute pictures are all I have. 

They are both paper pieced ... Paper piecing is a really cool way to do complicated images  but not something I would really want to do a lot of... ever...

Hulk actually looks quite different then the original. I thought he needed an actual nose and eyes. 

I put them onto drawstring bags... I wanted the gifts to be useful... possibly not the most appropriate place to put something that took so much time to create but hopefully it means they will get a lot of use out of them! 

Olivia's Shower

My Aunt and Uncle welcomed their first baby this last November. So of course shower invites and presents had to be made. She chose the Eliza Duvet from Pottery Barn Kids as the main fabric for her nursery so I used that design  to create her invites. 

Favor tags and Thank you cards were also created. 

This was the first time I created an invite completely on one page- normally with the watercolor I have made all of the pieces seperately and then I rearrange them in photoshop to create the invite. So in this case I was able to give Cindy the original watercolor which I put a bible verse on. So she can keep it (or not...haha) 

Happy Holidays

Jess and I hope your last few days of 2012 have been good. We have gone quiet here, choosing like a lot of you out there, to really be present in the moment. 

The main reason I am breaking my silence is to show you one of my favorite things that made it's way into my holiday decor this year. Compliments of my husband. 

See,I went a bit crazy and turned one entire wall in our house into a chalkboard wall.

 I had very definite plans about what I wanted on the wall. 

Life happened. My plans didn't.

I let go of my expectations and got this gift in return.

I came home from work one day to find he'd begun an amazing drawing. Now that it's finished, I am unsure as to whether I can ever change it....

It is a drawing one of our most favorite places on earth.

It is the view we had, most years, from the window of our Gasthaus.

We miss it.

This year we have enjoyed decorating.

Lighting things up.

Hanging out together.

Sometimes doing our own thing.

Pondering over a puzzle. 

(Holy cow Mom, this one's hard)

And grabbing hugs under the mistletoe.

I also managed a bit of sewing. Pulling out some of my hoarded and doing no one any good, Little Folks Voile, now I, and a few other people have fun scarves to help keep them warm.

Micah's 2nd Birthday

 Why is time flying by so fast? Micah turned 2 at the beginning of this month. 

We went back and forth on big party or just family and finally decided  just family sounded the best. I left the theme to the last moment. I really wanted it to be something that Micah would love- and it finally hit me that it had to be all about the sky- he loves everything that fly's! 

This guy will be in the shop soon. It made such a fun addition to the decorations.

Other then that I kept it simple since Halloween decorations were waiting to go up after the party

 I grew up with small family birthdays so I thoroughly enjoyed the evening of hanging out with just family. And yes that is Beau- he just happened to be available : )

Micah hated being sung to...again...  But enjoyed eating his cake!

Family Pictures

YES! We actually got around to dragging ourselves out for some pictures. I was a little worried we wouldn't get this fit in to the craziness that is our life right now- but we did so I hope you like them. This is last Friday so I was officially 36 weeks in these photos.

...now to get them into the album!

We kind of disappeared!

I knew we had been sporadic since my birthday about posting... but until I glanced at our archives today I hadn't realized we really have been terrible about posting since the beginning of March... oops!

We have been crazy hectic around here and I guess I could fill you in on a little of what's been up with us--

The biggest thing is Uber and I have moved! That's right you would have thought I'd of mentioned that at some point since it had been in the works for about 6 months but we were never sure it was going to happen until it was all over... and then we were so busy that I didn't have time to say anything.

As I am sure most of you would know/guess moving while pregnant means everything takes 100x longer to be completed and moving with a child means everything has to be done at least twice because they like to undo whatever you have just done.

I can finally say that we are pretty close to being settled in (a month and a half later) we are just trying to get the last few things done and I will show you the new place-- fun things like Micah's big boy room should be completed in the next week and now you know why I haven't shown anything about Isabella -- until this last week I hadn't unpacked her space yet!

So since I don't have pictures of the place yet I will show you the floor plan

It's a condo and we are on ONE level-- this is amazing people... I am not sure I will ever have stairs again! We are on the second floor so there are actually still stairs but there is an elevator... so my fat lazy self and 30 pound 18 month old are currently taking advantage of that.

Other then that small thing we have had quite a few family things happen the last two months- which are personal so I don't feel comfortable sharing them here (and it's not really stuff that needs to be shared) but it's been keeping us busy. On top of that we have had family in and out- which means we spent our time playing instead of making.

I would say we will be back to regular posting but I really can't promise that. I know we have a bunch of stuff that we have made and haven't shown yet- so we will at least try and get that up in the next few weeks... There is some super cool stuff being made!

But with Isabella due sometime in the next 5 weeks (that's 34 days or less-Crazy!) I am just not sure what we will be up to. Don't worry though we will let everyone know when she arrives!
