Norma's Logo

While my Grandma was visiting she commissioned a logo to be made for her. She made it super easy for me and wanted it to look like a moleskin I painted for her 2 years ago- except with blue birds

totally fun! I can't wait to see it on tags!

No Micah pictures on this post but I have spent the last few days-seriously... AGH! (Uber may freak out if he finds me in front of the computer for the 3rd day in a row when he gets home tonight) working on Micah's photo album. So if I have time maybe I will load them all up and show you what I have so far... I wonder how long it will take to upload 40 pages? Is that too much? Fair warning I am no Adrienne - I am minimalist (read lazy) and boring in my photo albums! Anyway let me know if that interests any of you...

ParrishPlatz logo

Another logo completed! I've been working with Jennifer from ParrishPlatz to create a logo to represent her business. How cute is this whimsical little town?
Jennifer will be able to switch up the colors of parrishplatz whenever the mood strikes her
Each piece of the logo is a seperate graphic so she can do all sorts of things with the pieces

Which is pretty awesome. Check out her blog to see some of the things she's planning to do with her new logo.

Sweet E Cake

I know 3 times in one week and it's only wednesday!! (Don't expect this to keep up!)

Another logo I have been working on. I actually designed it back in December-January but it had been put on the back burner until this week. It is for a friend in Indiana who is starting up a little cake business from home. I LOOOVVVVEEEE the name.
Here's it with a little pop of color... I just sent this version along for fun but I think it's growing on me.
I loved getting the opportunity to play with a logo that is not crafting related. Or I guess a better way to put it is I loved getting the chance to play with a logo that was food related. Makes me want to open a bakery... or on second thought maybe just visit one... hahaha.
And on a complete side note I am hanging out on our patio right now writing this post and I just looked over to see a cardinal hoping around my wanna be garden. I am SO happy summer is finally here and though I am sure it will be a long hot 6 months at the moment I am eating up every minute of outside time I can get!

It's been a while!

I'm sure you all thought I forgot how to login to my blog... I actually almost had! Blog what blog? It's about the same with crafting for me right now. Help! My work life is eating my fun life...

Anyway

I have managed to do one thing this last month.

Adrienne contacted me about creating a logo for her. She sells jewelry and accessories so after a bit of brainstorming we came up with a pendant hanging from a Celtic knot. The pendant is modeled after a pendant she wire wrapped and used in one of her necklaces. I love how personal this makes her logo!

I am really enjoying the opportunities I've been getting to create logo's for people. It has been so much fun to to collaborate with people.

And speaking of people I've collaborated with Sherie has opened her etsy shop Catbirdfish Studio go check it out. I can totally vouch for the beauty and quality of her work. In fact if you want something you better hurry I already bought the elephant before she could even announce she was open - yes I am totally shady like that!
Well I am off I have another project in the works - Crazy! I know - you might actually hear from me again in the next month.
My adorable cousin (daughter of Sherie) is coming out next week so if nothing else maybe I will share her cuteness with you!

Shirts!

Amanda was totally up for some crafting while she was here so I taught her how to do freezer paper stenciling and we even got her all set up so she can continue when she gets back to her dorm!
We picked up some plain T's on Friday and she got busy with some sparrow designs.
How cute is that?

Next she went for a peacock! Which she was a little intimidated by but I think she did a marvelous job! What do you think?

I love the butt feathers!!!

I can't wait to see what she does with her new skills!!

While she was busy with her exact-o knife I made her a logo from some of her drawings. I have decided that everyone needs a logo!
Saturday we got the tree up and decorated. The house is decidedly more festive! I love Christmas lights!
I haven't added much to the tree since last year but I did manage to make up some garland. Its from the shell lamp I took apart last year to make my crystal lamp. I couldn't see throwing all the shells out so I kept them in a bag and finally realized they would be great for garland on the tree. They are perfect... now I just need more shells!
Oh and for a black Friday deal... Amanda got some wonderful deals but this is all I came home with (well for me anyway)!!
They're from Urban Outfitters .... you just can't resist this kind of awesomeness on sale! These suckers are HEAVY and around 3 inches tall. I just with they had done them in realistic colors.

Alright well I am off. Fair warning I may possibly disapear for a while again!

She's Alive!

Well I disappeared out of no where! I have been all sorts of busy around these parts but it has been the kind of busy that you have nothing to show for (other then a very very dirty house... lol) Hopefully it all will be wrapped up in the next week and I will have something to post about! I do have one fun thing I can share with you though.
Collin asked me to work on a logo for him so for the last few days I have been playing around with some ideas and I finally have something together for him to look at today so... without further ado

I have no idea if he is going to like it or not... but he didn't give me a lot of direction just to include a 3 point crown... and yes I gave him a hair cut I hope he doesn't mind the long hair doesn't translate well on a silhouette.
If you haven't checked out his work you should go take a look (though he really should post some of his new stuff, ahem) My favorite so far is this painting.
It's finally feeling like fall around here and though I am sure it wont last I am enjoying it immensely! Also has anyone been watching Glee? Totally cheesy and I am totally hooked... I probably shouldn't be admitting this. Oh well.

I'm alive... kind of

It was supposed to be a productive week but I have been laid up on the couch since basically Tuesday! I sound like a mix between a frog and an elephant... it's lovely, let me tell you...

On the bright side my tags came it. I am digging them ... now I just need to make something to put them on!

look at this massive strawberry from right off my back porch. It was a nice suprise for my saturday morning (I lead a crazy life I know)

My Gardenia topiary is finally blooming it has had a hundred buds on it for ever and they are finally opening...
To bad I can't smell!!
Crafting tomorrow for you I hope... or at least something a little more interesting...

Presenting the completed CatBirdFish Studio Logo

I have had a total blast putting this together! After knowing for sure which direction to head in I got to work again last night and I am very happy with the results. So here it is --

For the fun of it (and because my interent went down right when I wanted to post) I colored it in. I didn't expect to like it more but I think I might!

Uber is pushing me to get back to school... blech! But today he told me there is a graphic design institute locally that is connected with a larger one in Miami. Now I am interested!! I think we are going to go check out an open house next weekend... I'll let you know how it goes!

CatBirdFish Studio

Sherie (who is my aunt for those of you who don't know) commented on my tags take two post that she wanted her own... and how could I say no? Especially when she said they needed to say CatBirdFish Studio. I totally wanted to play! So here is two rough ideas the first one is what I thought of when I first read it (I spent more time on this one)-

After talking to her and finding out why she was calling it that I drew up this one today (it needs work I spent less than 30 minutes on it so this is just for the general idea --Uber already informed me the cat face wasn't right... )

Anyway I was just interested to see which she liked more (not liking either is also an option my feelings wont be hurt this is just fun) and thought I would share it with everyone... because it's what I have been doing with all my free time the last two days... which hasn't been much hence the special looking cat face! So let me know what you think too!
